THE FOUNDER OF LINK TO LIFE FOUNDATION, Ronnie Link, was contacted by her health provider offering a low-dose CT scan at a reduced rate because she was “at risk”. She felt healthy enough but thought it prudent to be sure she had no underlying problems so she signed up.
Long story short, she tested positive and was operated on to remove a cancerous tumor from her lungs. She says, “I’m kind of a poster child for this as it’s a new early detection thing put on by the National Cancer Association. They haven’t made any headway in the cure for lung cancer except to find it early enough to remove.”
Ronnie decided that since her life was spared by this early detection effort she would dedicate herself to saving others.
